12 months One Section for 12 months and other Section for 6 months. Plan, prepare for and undertake a 4 day venture Activity in a residential setting away from home for 5 days
Direct entrants must undertake an additional 6 months in either the Service or the longer of either the (Skills or Physical Recreation) Section.

There should be a regular commitment throughout the above periods of involvement averaging at least one hour a week. This is the minimum and you should aim to do more.

You should plan on the following:

3 months      - a minimum of 12 hours activity
6 months      - a minimum of 24 hours activity
12 months    - a minimum of 48 hours activity

If duration for Physical Recreation is 3 months, that means you would have to do sport on one parade night per week. Reality is more likely that the cadet would do 12 hours over a year.
