Award Leadership

To encourage the discovery and development of practical and social skills and personal interests.

The Award Scheme recognizes ATC activities and gives specific approval for the following:

Leading Cadet
Bronze
Senior Cadet
Silver
Staff Part 1
Gold

Other activities organized by ATC Squadrons that could count include shooting, model making, music/band etc.

Recommended Duration for Skills

Bronze Award 3 months and a minimum of 12 hours activity
Silver Award 6 months and a minimum of 24 hours activity
Silver Award - Direct entrant 12 months and a minimum of 48 hours activity
Gold Award 12 months and a minimum of 48 hours activity
Gold Award - Direct entrant 18 months and a minimum of 72 hours activity
 

Writing up the Record Book

It is important to include not only that the participant has passed the relevant exam, but also what other aviation activities they have participated in. i.e. AEF, Gliding, Model Making, visits to RAF Stations, Air shows etc.
