Gliding Induction Course - GIC

The Starting point for your experience for a Cadet at their affiliated Volunteer Gliding School (VGS) will be the GIC

This has been designed to give you a taste for flying training. You will be shown various aspects of flying, from pitch to roll, with the opportunity to take control and practice what you have learnt.

After you have completed the course, you will be awarded a certificate.

The flying training in the Vigilant lasts for 20 - 30 minutes in duration, depending upon age and previous experience.

You will be shown and have the opportunity to practice Introduction to:

Normal flight,

Attitude Pitch up and down

Roll left and right

Practice flying straight

In Brief...

You should be at least 14 years and 6 months of age (Cadets below this age can still attend but will get a slightly shorter flight)

Parent's consent to fly signed in record book or 3822

You must have a high level of motivation

No temporary or permanent medical condition that would make flying unsafe for cadet or pilot
