Introducing...
Herts and Bucks Wing Air Training Corps

The Air Training Corps (ATC) was founded in 1941 to provide young men with pre-entry training for the Royal Air Force and the Fleet Air Arm. Today it has evolved into the UK's premier youth organisation for teenagers, male and female.
Supported by the Royal Air Force, the ATC is not a recruiting organisation - but provides its cadets with adventure and experience to improve their self-confidence and self-discipline, and skills and training which will serve them well whether they ultimately choose to pursue military service or a civilian career. The ATC's motto is "Venture Adventure" and its objectives are set out in its Royal Warrant as such:
► To promote and encourage a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force
► To foster a spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship
► To provide training which will be useful in the Services and in civilian life
There are almost 1,000 ATC units in the United Kingdom and these are divided into six Regions and 36 Wings. Herts and Bucks Wing alone comprises 30 units, all working hard to achieve the above objectives and more. Alongside the ATC, which has its units based in communities, many thousands of Air Cadets also serve in school-based Combined Cadet Force units.
The ATC is an extremely welcoming organisation, to people of all ages and backgrounds. New cadets can join up to the age of 18, whilst those over 20 can get involved as adult staff or by serving on a Civilian Management Committee - the crucial backbone of every unit.
With a wider range of activities available than in any other UK youth organisation - not to mention the qualifications, comradeship and friendship on offer - there is something for everyone and every reason to join us today... so what are you waiting for? Come and find out what you've been missing!. Use the "In Your Area" link on the left to find out what Air Cadets near you are up to this week.
