Adam Leadbeater joined Bucks ACF as a Cadet when he was 13 years old in 1992 at 10th Platoon, which is at Blakelands TA Centre in Milton Keynes. He paraded at 10th Pltn. until his 18th birthday, reaching the rank of 4 Star Cadet colour Sergeant. He attended annual camps both in the UK and abroad, representing the battalion at ISCRM Bisley and was an active instructing member of the Platoon. On turning 18 years of age he joined the adult staff and was posted to 5th Lord Grey Platoon in Bletchley in the rank of Sergeant. He filled the position of Pltn Sg with primary responsibilities being dress and discipline, in addition to instructing. Whilst at 5th Pltn he attended the Initial training and Adult instructors courses. He served with 5th Pltn. for 18 months and then took command of 4th Aylesbury Pltn in Jan 1999.

He was promoted to Colour Sergeant on successful completion of the King George IV senior instructors course. He commanded 4th Pltn for approximately 3 years. The unit was slit into 2 Platoons as cadet numbers being in excess of 75 cadets. He was given command of both Pltn's with 2 junior Platoon Commanders where he stayed for a further year.
In Late 2003 he took the position of Company Quartermaster Sergeant and provided stores and logistical support for E Company. This was a job he had performed at weekends and camps.
On annual camps and training weekends he filled the position of acting Company
Sergeant Major for the Basic Training Cadre and was also used as an instructor on Initial staff training courses for the instruction of Skill at Arms on the L98 / LSW and also foot drill.
He also holds a range qualification and was qualified to run blank firing exercises.
In 2004 he left the ACF in pursuit of a new challenge and joined 1365
Aylesbury Sqn. having made many friends with the Sqn. whilst being at
Aylesbury as Pltn. Commander.
He was applied to bean Adult NCO within the Corps and in light of his previous experience was appinted as a Flight Sergeant.
It is believed that Flt Sgt Adam Leadbeater was the first person to make Flt Sgt within the Corps and is presently the only serving Flt Sgt.
