Individual
Cadets can obtain the Air Cadets Basic or Advanced Swimming Certificate. The Basic certificate, or equivalent, is the minimum to take part in adventure training on water, such as canoeing, boating and sailing.
Inter-Squadron
One of the major events in the Wing Calendar each year is the inter-squadron swimming gala. This gala is normally held at Westminster Lodge Swimming Pool, St Albans each year.
Inter-Wing
The best cadets from the inter-squadron are selected to represent the Wing at the inter-wing swimming gala at RAF Cranwell.
The Regional Swimming Competition was held at RAF Cranwell on the 29th September 2002. The senior girls Swimming Team won the Overall Girls Trophy, the eight time the Wing has this trophy. This is the first trophy the Wing has won in the last two years.
The Wing Team of 10 male and 10 female cadets collected 10 Gold Medals, 5 Silver Medals and 9 Bronze Medals. Herts and Bucks came third overall.
